Day 1, ARRIVAL IN SOFIA
Arrival at Sofia airport at …….o’clock. Meet and greet the group by our representative. Transfer and accommodation at 4* hotel, centrally located. Overnight.
Day 2, SOFIA - GOVEDARTSI
Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of Sofia including Alexander Nevski cathedral, church St. George – The Rotonda, St. Petka Samardhiiska church. Lunch in local restaurant. After lunch visiting of Boyana church (UNESCO Heritage). Drive to the village of Govedartsi (1300 m. above sea level – “m.a.s.l”) in Rila mountain (75 km. south east from Sofia). Accommodation in a small mountain family hotel for 2 overnights.
Day 3, GOVEDARTSI – MUSALA PEAK - GOVEDARTSI
Breakfast. Transfer to Borovets – mountain resort (1350 “m.a.s.l”). After that we take the cable car for about 30 min. to Yastrebets (2300 “m.a.s.l”). Start hiking (1 hour) with our local mountain guide to Musala chalet (2400 “m.a.s.l”) and up via the Seven Musala lakes (2,5 hours) to Musala peak (2925 “m.a.s.l”.). Back to Yastrebets to take the cable car down to Borovets and drive back to Govedartsi.
Day 4, GOVEDARTSI - DOBRINISHTE
Breakfast. Transfer to the Pionerska chalet via Separeva Banya village (1 hour) – the warmest mineral geyser – 1500 “m.a.s.l”. After that we take the chair lift to the Rila lakes chalet (2200 “m.a.s.l”). Then we have time to hike in the Nature reserve and enjoy the scenery of the Seven Rila lakes reaching the highest one at the height of 2600 “m.a.s.l”. Back to Pionerska chalet by chair lift and drive down via Dupnitsa and later the Predela pass between Rila and Pirin mountains to the village of Dobrinischte. Accommodation in family run hotel. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 5, DOBRINISHTE – GOTSE DELSCHEV - DOBRINISHTE
After breakfast departure to Gotse Delchev chalet (1500 “m.a.s.l”) by coach to take the chair lift to Bezbog chalet – 2200 “m.a.s.l” (30 min.). Hiking in Pirin national park to the biggest and deepest (29,5 m.) lake in Pirin mountain – the Popovo lake (1,30 hour).
We continue our hiking tour via a beautiful mountain pass and enjoy the Valyavishki lakes. Later on we descend via Damyanitsa chalet and down the river to a place where we will be collected by our coach to drive back to Dobrinischte.
Day 6, DOBRINISHTE – RILA MONASTERY - SOFIA
After breakfast we drive to Rila monastery via the Predela pass. Sightseeing tour of Rila monastery (Under UNESCO protection) including 2 hours walk through a beautiful pine tree forest to the first dwelling (rock cave) of the founder of the monastery – St. Joan from Rila and down via some sacred religious sites back to the monastery. After that we continue to Sofia for our last overnight and dinner.
Day 7, DEPARTURE
Breakfast. Transfer to Sofia airport for the departure flight.
