7 Days/6 Nights Bus
Day 1
Arrival of the group at Sofia Airport and meeting with the Guide. Transfer by luxury bus / minivan and accommodation in 3* hotel in the center of Sofia. In the evening “welcome” dinner with folklore show in traditional style Bulgarian restaurant. Back transfer to the hotel and overnight.
Day 2
Breakfast. Departure for the village of Shiroka Luka (260km), picturesque located in the heart of Rhodope mountain. The village of Shiroka Luka is a pearl in the treasure of the Rhodope Mountain cultural heritage. The narrow cobbled streets, the white two-storey houses with bay windows and stone-tilled roofs still retain the authentic air of Bulgarian Renaissance, and the ancient arched bridges add a touch of romance to the village. Accommodation at “Shiroka Luka” Hotel 3*, situated over the village with splendid view. Walking tour of Shiroka Luka. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 3
Breakfast. Full day excursion to the Yagodina Cave. The Yagodina Cave is unique phenomenon, long 10.5 km. It has 3 levels, but the first level only has electricity. There is cultivated path 1100 meters long and it takes 55 minutes walking with professional cave guide.
Lunch in the nature, picnic style with BBQ and salads near to the cave. In the late afternoon back transfer to the hotel. Free at leisure and dinner at the hotel with live folklore music. Overnight.
Day 4
Breakfast. Full day excursion to the Haramiiska Cave. The Haramiiska” cave is not provided with all utilities, but it is used as cave tourism, because of the archeological findings in it. You can reach to the “Haramiiska” cave only with special equipment, provided by “Travel Gate” Ltd. The lovers of the extreme sports can reach to the foot of the cave, but only under the leadership of the qualified guides and cave instructors. After long and steep climbing one can reach to cave’s entrance where were found traces from human presence. After the shoving through the cave labyrinth, there is a 43 meters letting down to the center of the underground cavern, 180 meters long. The whole tour takes 4–5 hours. Over 600 people have passed this tour per year. About 14.00 o’clock back to the hotel. Free at leisure and lunch. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight.
Day 5
Breakfast. Full day excursion the town of Smolyan where is located one of the biggest Planetarium of the Balkan Peninsula. You will have the chance to visit the Planetarium and the Historical Museum of Smolyan. Lunch at local restaurant. The journey proceed to the town of Zlatograd – another authentic Rhodope villige. Here you will visit an Open Air Museum “Zlatograd” which represent the old culture and customs of the Rhodope’s region. In the late afternoon back transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6
Breakfast. Departure to the town of Sofia. On the stop over for visiting the Bachkovo Monastery - The second biggest Bulgarian monastery (founded in 1083) is chiefly known for its original architecture, rich collections of old icons, jewelry, coins and church plate. The Holy Trinity and St. Nicholas church (1840) contain some of the first murals painted by the celebrated National Revival artist Zahari Zograph. After that you will the Assenova Krepost – Assen’s Fortress (12-14century) and the Saint Petka Petrichka Church. It preserves small bits of wall paintings dated from the 14-19 centuries. It is one of the most valuable representations of sacral architecture in Bulgaria. Lunch at local restaurant. The road continue to Sofia. Accommodation at 3* hotel and dinner at local restaurant. Overnight.
Day 7
Breakfast. Transfer to Sofia Airport.
